The COVID-19 pandemic has raised profound questions about how the Church can fulfil its mission of evangelisation amidst the many challenges. The widespread fear and uncertainty has meant that many speak as though the mission of the Church is on hold till after the pandemic. Much is uncertain, but one thing is certain that the world needs the Good News of Jesus Christ in theses days more not less. The world needs Catholics to discover fresh ways to evangelise in these unique circumstances.
To help us to reflect on how the Church can model ‘extraordinary evangelisation in extraordinary times’ we will be joined by well known preacher and retreat giver Monsignor John Armitage who was recently appointed as the Master of the Guild of Our Lady of Ransom. Mgr John will give a short sermon followed by a short discussion with the event host, CEO of Catholic Voices, Brenden Thompson.
