As different countries begin the process of easing lockdown restrictions, we want to find out how different Catholics have been responding to lockdown. One the consequences of this time of quarantine is that Catholics are separated from one-another. So whilst we are always united in prayer, we rightly mourn being distant from our brothers and sisters in the faith.
In this 8th CV Connect webinar we are hearing stories from our spiritual fathers and mothers in the faith, the clergy and consecrated. All our guests are men and women who have generously given their life in service to the Lord and and His Church. We want to know how, in theses extraordinary circumstances, a Seminarian, a Deacon, Religious Sisters, Priests, a Consecrated Virgin and even a Bishop, have responded to the challenges and opportunities of lockdown.
Guest Speakers
Deacon & Seminarian
Rev Paschal Uche
Paschal has been studying at St Mary’s Seminary, Oscott for the last five years and was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Brentwood on 29 June 2019.

Though not technically clergy (yet) he has recently received ‘candidacy’ a rite where the Church recognises the seminarian as worthy of being ordained (hence, they become a "candidate" for ordination to the priesthood). He is in formation for the priesthood at St Mary’s College Oscott, Birmingham.
You can see Paschal and Michael speak about what ‘a day in the life of a seminarian’ is like at Oscott in this video.
Religious Sisters
The Dominican Sisters of St Joseph
The congregation of the Dominican Sisters of St Joseph in the New Forest contributes to the mission of the Order of Preachers by preaching and teaching the Catholic Faith, in communion with and under the supervision of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. The sisters’ apostolate of explicit proclamation of the Gospel flows from a common life of prayer, study and monastic observances, centred on the liturgical celebration of the mystery of Christ. This preaching and teaching apostolate is wide-ranging, aimed at people of every age, at every level of faith development, in every circumstance, using every possible means, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
