Praised Be You: A Briefing for Journalists and CV Speakers on the Forthcoming Environment Encyclical

Pope Francis’s letter to the Church and the world on the environment, expected 18 June, is one of the most eagerly anticipated papal documents in recent times. It is also one of the most controversial. Hear four speakers give the vital background, and lift the lid on what’s likely to be in it.

AUSTEN IVEREIGH is coordinator of Catholic Voices and the author of a major biography on Pope Francis. He recently received a high-level briefing on the encyclical in Rome.

JOE RONAN is a CV speaker with long experience in the renewable energy sector, with a particular interest in the science, politics and economics of climate change.

GRAHAM GORDON is Head of the Policy Team at CAFOD, overseeing the engagement in the many UN processes this year of relevance to environment and development.

DEBORAH JONES is a former diocesan director of adult religious education, Editor of the Catholic Herald, Deputy Editor of Priests & People, and Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics.

The briefing is open to interested journalists and CV speakers.
