Applications for our next Catholic Voices Public Speakers’ Training Programme are now open!
Since 2010 Catholic Voices has put hundreds of Catholics on air and spread to 24 countries around the world. Inspired by the idea and success of TED Talks – one of which was given by Pope Francis recently to great effect, we have now officially launched, with the blessing and encouragement of Cardinal Vincent Nichols, our Public Speakers’ Programme (PSP) and ‘Reframe’ Parish programme.
Last year we successfully piloted our Public Speakers’ Programme (PSP) training over 20 speakers, many of whom then went on to deliver talks in 5 different parishes during Lent on a variety of topics ranging from abortion, assisted suicide to Pope Francis’ reforms. This year, as in 2016, we are focusing exclusively on training people to give talks and presentations as well as workshops on how to more effectively tell the Church’s story. We are therefore delighted to invite applicants for our 2017 training programme which will be in London, during October 2017.
The training is free of charge, but we ask participants coming from outside London to pay for their travel and accommodation costs if they are able (if not, subsidies are available). We welcome applications from practising, thoughtful, engaging, committed Catholics of all ages and states of life (married, single, lay, religious, etc.) who are willing to learn how to put the Church’s case in compelling ways. To help you decide if this may be for you and find out the dates/times, we have a detailed ‘Notes for Applicants’ sheet which we will email to you. There is an application and interview process.
The National Speakers’ Training 2017 will be training the next generation of Catholic public speakers. We remain focused on our core mission, to tell the Church’s story in UK, which is the purpose of our National Speakers’ Training programme, now in its seventh year. If you are interested in applying please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Application deadline is Monday 31st July 2017.
